Amanda Randell at Hotel Endsleigh

December 16, 2019

I have had the privilege of working for Olga Polizzi, at Hotel Endsleigh in Milton Abbot, Devon for 20 years in April 2020. Each week I walk the magical gardens harvesting flowers and foliage’s in all weathers to bring into the house creating designs in the beautiful public rooms.

Front hall arrangement at Hotel Endsleigh

The front hall greets every visitor

The garden is made up of 108 acres of verdant landscape designed by Humphry Repton 200 years ago. It includes a 100m Rose arch and Herbaceous border, a thatched Dairy Dell and the Shell House and has the most amazing view across the Tamar Valley and the wooded hills beyond. I am extraordinarily lucky to have carte blanche to pick the flowers from the estate and bring them into the house, (although I think Ben, the Head Gardener might not see it like that). I cannot stress enough though just what an idyllic place Endsleigh and its gardens are, to me they are a slice of middle earth, my middle earth.

The Parterre at Hotel Endsleigh

The Parterre is a secluded private terrace covered in roses where intimate wedding parties take place with the most spectacular view of the valley below set in a formal garden with a fountain and pool.

It is a most wonderful spot for a romantic wedding, because you are very much a part of the natural surroundings, in the warmer months adding a continental feel to dining al fresco.

Endsleigh offers such lovely opportunities for some really breathtakingly scenic views to celebrate your wedding. Most of all, I simply love to create the perfect atmosphere you want with stunning floral designs to match your vision for a day filled with joy.
